Consider all of your financial aid options before submitting a scholarship application.

Stanford University Scholarships List

Scholarship recipients will be notified by email in late April if they meet the application deadline.

  • The Bank of America Scholars Program offers full tuition (and more), plus a $20,000 stipend for out-of-state students and $15,000 for California residents.
  • To qualify for this scholarship, you must have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and attend college in California or Florida as an undergraduate student majoring in business administration or finance at one of these universities: Berkeley University; Los Angeles University; Southern California University; Florida State University; Miami University.

Endowed Scholarships

  • Endowed Scholarships: The Stanford Society of Scholars is an endowed scholarship that supports outstanding undergraduate students who are first-generation or low-income, with preference given to those who have overcome significant obstacles in life. It awards $3,000 per year for up to four years.
  • The Arrillaga Family Foundation Scholars Program provides financial support for students from California who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need; recipients may receive up to $5,000 per year for up to four years. This award is renewable if you maintain good academic standing at Stanford University. Each year, applications must be submitted by February 1; however, you should apply as soon as possible after October 1 to complete the application process before the deadline (the earlier you use, the better).

Merit-based scholarships

  • Academic scholarships are given to students based on their academic performance in high school.
  • Athletic scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel in sports and represent their schools at the collegiate level.
  • Artistic scholarships can be awarded for any artistic talent, such as singing or acting.

Need-based scholarships: You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for need-based scholarships.

If you are awarded a need-based scholarship, your award package will include an academic scholarship and an amount that can be used at any of Stanford’s expense options (i.e., dining plans). Your financial aid office will notify you of the amount based on your FAFSA results before making any payments toward tuition or housing costs.

Stanford University Scholarships for Internation Students

Many scholarships are available to international students at Stanford University, one of the world’s most prestigious universities. Although applying for Stanford University Scholarships is pretty straightforward, you need to know a few important details before submitting your application. Here are a few key points that might help you better understand the process:

  • Stanford University has several types of scholarships: merit-based, need-based and departmental awards such as teaching assistantships or research assistantships. You can apply for any scholarship if you meet its requirements (e.g., GPA). However, if your goal is only getting a merit-based scholarship, ensure your GPA meets their minimum requirement before applying!
  • Each year around 2200 students receive financial aid from this university, which makes it one of America’s best colleges for affordability!

Stanford University Scholarships Eligibility

It is essential that you are a citizen of the United States and that you have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Additionally, you must be enrolled in an accredited college or university (or plan to attend one). In addition, if you’re applying for financial aid through FAFSA, you must complete the form by January 15 each year; this applies to both freshmen and transfer students. If your family has any outstanding debt or is living below the poverty line, ensure that information gets reported so that it can be considered when determining your eligibility for federal grants and loans from the government.
