Transfer Applicants

Transferring to the Stanford University is an excellent way for students to continue their education and pursue their goals. With a seamless transfer process and a dedicated transfer admissions team, the Stanford University makes it easy for transfer students to apply and start their academic journey.

Application

  1. Apply through the Common Application.
  2. Submit official transcripts and test scores.
  3. Submit a letter of recommendation from an instructor or employer who can speak to your academic abilities, work ethic, and leadership potential.
  4. If you don't have anyone who can provide this information, ask someone who knows you well to write one for you instead!
  5. Write a personal statement to help admissions officers learn more about who YOU are: what do YOU want out of life?

Standardized Testing

The university does not require standardized testing for admission, but students who wish to be considered for merit-based scholarships or financial aid should submit their scores. The SAT and ACT are accepted in place of the GREs.

  • Standardized test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. Please do not mail your score reports now to Stanford University; our office will not process them and will delay your application review process significantly.

Fee Waiver

You must be eligible for a fee waiver. To apply for a fee waiver, you must submit your request by the appropriate deadline . If you are eligible to receive one, you will not have to pay any fees related to Stanford University’s application process.
